A trip to York
We recently took a trip to York, staying in the Camping & Motorhome Club’s York Rowntree Park Club Campsite.
What a brilliant location! Its a very busy site, and is often quite hard to get into during peak periods. And its not the cheapest of sites either. But well worth it!
On the trip in and out, you do need to be very mindful of the height and width restrictions around York. Funnily enough, the trip in was okay, but we could easily have come a cropper on our departure! 🤣
The site has nice large gravel pitches with EHU and plenty of space for awnings, and the facilities are spotless, with nice hot showers! You’re right next to Rowntree Park to keep the dog happy, and right night to the river, which can unfortunately lead to flooding of the site.
From the site, its only a short walk into the city centre where you can explore the Shambles, the Minster, and all of the other attractions that York offers. You can even meet Paddington Bear as he visits the city!
The York Parkrun is close as well, and if we’d been there on a Saturday, I think it would have been obligatory to run over to it!
I think York Rowntree Park has become our new favourite site!
